Labor Day Hike

We went up La Plata Canyon for a "short" hike on Labor Day Sunday. Three miles on a very rocky 4-wheel road, 1,000 vertical feet, and one very dirty diaper later, our short hike left everyone except Abby exhausted!

Abby got a free ride once again. As soon as we started hiking, a rainstorm blew in and dropped a ton of rain and some hail on us. Abby slept through it all.

Learning to use the iPhone in the middle of the woods.

Family shot. (Sorry Grandpa Dyer, I forgot the name of the peak.)

Not sure what we're pointing at.

This was a nice section of the hike, with a great view!

So pretty!

First Bath!

Last night, Abby had her first real bath! We've been giving her sponge baths since her birth, but this was the first time she sat in several inches of water in her nice ducky bath tub.

Look, Abby has the same hair pattern as her dad!

She wasn't so sure about the whole bath thing. It was an audible experience for us all.

We were all completely worn out by the time we were done!

Week Four

Okay, last night Abby celebrated her fourth week of life by waking Mom & Dad up to eat. She's changing and growing so much already, it's amazing! Her eyesight is improving and she's full of energy. She responds to voices and seems to now smile more than just when she poops (although that's still a favorite).

Grandma Dyer has knit Abby so many wonderful outfits, but we're hoping Abby doesn't outgrow them before it gets cold enough to wear them!

Okay, this is the best expression ever! We're going to have to tease her with this picture when she's older.

Hanging out with Grandpa Dyer.

Abby is the queen of dramatic poses and strange sleep postures.

Look at that smile!

Okay, this video is of Abby moving around. Not all of you will think that's as exciting as we do, or the grandparents do. Also, ignore how dorky Mom sounds! :)
