April

April was a busy time for the Reeder family.  We sheared the sheep, worked on getting the garden ready for planting, planted the cold-hardy crops, and started lambing season!

Abby loved watching the sheep shearing activities.

Our shearer, Nick, getting ready to shear.

Gumming an apple.

 Such a clever, standing baby!

Garden helper hanging out under the fruit trees.

Ready with her shovel.

Helping Mom pick Swiss chard and weed the carrots.

Mom planting parsnips.

She loves being outside.

Ooooh, the shovel doubles as a teether!

Easter

(Sorry for the wacko formatting.  I can't get this $#!&#$&#$ blogging program to work!)

The Easter Bunny somehow made it safely past the family of foxes living near our house.  Abby enjoyed the gifts he left for her.

 She even received a kite!
Later, we went over to the grandparents' house.  Abby dressed up for the occasion.

The Easter Bunny was busy - he even visited the grandparents' house to leave presents for Abby!  She received her first kick ball.

It was also a wonderfully warm day, so Abby had her first real play in the grass.

And the dead leaf from last year's gourd vines was much more interesting than the Easter eggs!

Abby really enjoyed flying the kite...but maybe not as much as her dad did!  :)  After the kite, we shot some hoops at the barnyard basketball court.  Abby thought it was hilarious!

Mom's Birthday

Abby was so excited for Mom's birthday that she fell asleep at the table after lunch.

It was Friday, so Dad couldn't join the crew for a birthday hike.  Don't tell him, but we had fun anyway.

Grandpa took a nap while everyone else played.

Abby enjoyed sitting on a tree stump while surveying the scenery.

We had to take a quick break on the way back.  Abby learned that sticks are AWESOME and tons of fun to play with!
