Week Ten

Wow, Abby is now two-and-a-half months old! She experienced the horror of her first vaccination this week. At the check up, we found out she's grown four inches taller but is only 11 lbs 12 oz. We thought for sure she was 12 lbs or over (or at least that's what Mom's back said).
Abby helped Mom process apples this week. We did up lots of half-pints for when Abby starts on solid foods this winter!

Sara and Noah Kincheloe came over and played with Abby.

Dad & Abby play the anatomy naming game. Abby attempts to say "arms, belly, feet" in baby speak.

Norman joined Dad & Abby on the couch. Abby's tactile senses are improving, so she is fascinated by different textures. Norman is a favorite texture.

We found out Norman is very patient, too. Good kitty! He loves to share our laps with Abby.

Week Nine

We're a little late on this post; Abby will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Today she had her first vaccination. It was very sad. Anyway, we were busy during week nine:

Abby hung out in her stroller while we stacked hay in the barn.

Dad had a bad allergic reaction to the hay, so he and Abby took it easy the rest of the day.

Doug Ramsey helped Mom & Abby pick a bunch of apples. Abby was lots of help sorting them.

Knowing we're way behind schedule on firewood, we all bundled up and headed out on the property. Abby sported a hand knit hat and mittens from Grandma Dyer and a sweater knit by Mom! Color coordination wasn't our concern.

We used the truck to buffer the sound of the chainsaw. Abby liked the noise and slept right through it all.

Abby slept so hard she started listing to the side.... Oh, what nice juniper we found!

Dad taught Abby all about football Sunday evening.

Mom even watched the game, too.

Then it was bath time. Abby's hair is getting so long the fauxhawk is curling!

Taos Wool Festival

Abby experienced her first Taos Wool Festival this past weekend (September 30-October 2) where we are vendors as Dyers Wool.

Our booth.

Our homemade products.

More handmade products and lots of wool.

It was a little chilly so she hung out in her winter suit during the mornings.

She helped behind the check-out counter with Mom & Dad.

She charmed everyone who met her.

She wasn't so helpful during take-down, though....

We stayed at a cute casita near the festival.

Family photo in front of the Brazos cliffs.

Such a gorgeous view.

One eye opens...

Good view from Dad's shoulder.

Wow, how'd I get here?

Great backdrop.

Yay!

Oh yes, spit does happen.

Rest in peace, Grandpa. We'll miss you.
