August, Part 3

 August finished up with a bang.  We went to our friend's beautiful forest wedding and enjoyed a lovely setting and ceremony.

August, Part 2

August saw lots of harvest and canning, friends visiting, and lots and lots of cupcakes.

Making applesauce for the big applesauce eater.  Homegrown "Lord Seedling" apples.

Helping Grandma get the canning jars.

Abby LOVED hanging with Auntie Kristina.  Mommy LOVED Abby hanging with Auntie Kristina!  :)

Invasion of the Sphinx Moth caterpillars.  It was amazing.  Dozens crossing our driveway and in our fields.

Making cupcakes for the Ramsey-Robinson wedding.

Abby totally helped making the cupcakes.  Nothing like a toddler at your feet as you handle boiling 220 degree sugar syrup.

Family Birthday Party

 Abby's actual birthday fell on a Monday, so we had a family celebration.

 It started with feeding herself.  She is such a lady, with impeccable table manners.

 We then went out for a birthday walk, carrying Mommy's water.

We went over to the Grandparents' house to play on their big present there: a play castle!

 Abby's favorite part was the ship wheel.

 Abby insists on trying to climb up the slide.

 Daddy came home and the Grandparents came over, so the party began.  Daddy helped open presents.

Birthday #1

We had a few friends over for Abby's first birthday.  She was overwhelmed by the activities, but had fun nonetheless.

Grandma watched Abby while Mom played hostess.  After a rainstorm, we all went outside.

Birthday cake time.  She was getting tired by this point and didn't know why everyone was watching her.

  It didn't stop her from digging in.

We didn't get to presents until late.  Thankfully Xavier was there to help Abby figure out the whole unwrapping thing.  :-)
